Na het kinderfeestje van Bas en de teaparty van Oma Jans gaat Vatican Analog vanavond de duistere kant van de wereld ontdekken in The Dark Forest. De Bat Cave zal worden omgetoverd in een duister moerasgebied, waar alles anders is dan het lijkt, pratende bomen, fantasy verschijningen, niets zal je na vanavond nog gek vinden. Dit alles voor de cd-releaseparty van Franz Fjödor (a.k.a. Wouter Jaspers), die zijn eerste langspeelplaat "Exhibition" aan het grote publiek gaat presenteren. Verwacht - net zoals op de aankomende plaat - een set van broeierige repeterende songstructuren, psychedelische donkere drones en een duistere folktracks.
Om in de sfeer te blijven zal uit Zweden Jon Eriksen overkomen om met zijn project Still Life Electric Tilburg op z'n grondvesten te doen schudden. Dit met een combinatie van keiharde noise, gestoorde samples en een moddervet onheilspellend geluid. Een vrolijkere noot zal worden gebracht door het Franse Bülanz Orgabar, dat freakfolk afwisseld met een jazzerige touch. Uit wie deze band bestaat is niet helemaal bekend, maar dat ze bijzondere muziek maken staat als een paal boven water. Here it is: Treetops! The first lp by Staplerfahrer and also the first lp released by HeilsKabaal Records. The A side is the soundtrack to 'Treetops for the new millenium (a film by Mahatma LeRoi)'. It's a 15 minutes long, Stars of the Lid like track. Slowly builing with lots of hidden tension. On the other side we find 'Lullaby (for my Dad)', also a slowy arising, captivating piece, but more staccato. Finally there is 'Lover's Breath' a very open and clear piece of sound recordings.
