John Hammond, early Dr. Feelgood, Chuck Berry, Red Devils, Bjorn Berge, Irish whiskey, Sonny Boy Williamson 1 & 2 and many many more.
Jeff and Al played together in the early 80's in The Chicago Bearcats a blues/swing band that was signed to Carve Up records a subsidiary of Red Lightning, and had a vinyl E.P. put out.
After the Bearcats split in 1985 Jeff then went on to form The Roosters (later to become Jeff Chapman's Roosters and Al to form The AM5 (originally The Al Morocco Five) both Rhythm and Blues bands, although very different from each other.
The Jives play a wealth of blues covers in their own style from the likes of Billy Boy Arnold, Little Walter, Chuck Berry, Mose Allison etc. with the emphasis on high energy Essex r & b.
It is vital that bands like The Jives exist - Blues in Britain May 2009.
