If you want to see the band next door, go next door!

The Joans are:

Davy Joans- vocals, Taylor Joans- Guitarist, Jennifer Joans- vocals, and Aaron Joans- vocals/drums, Ed Joans- vocals/keyboards, Steve Joans- bass guitar

The Joans don’t like to blend in with the crowd. The moment you get your first glimpse of The Joans, you know that this time, it’s going to be different. The Joans wouldn’t be caught dead in ripped jeans and a tee-shirt. The Joans don’t mind if you stare at them, as long as you start to dance as well. The Joans want to be the life of the party because they understand that when people go out to a club to hear a band they want more than music. The Joans entertain.

The mission of The Joans is simple; give legendary Hollywood star, Joan Crawford, the rock and roll voice she deserves. The spirit of Joan Crawford is so overwhelmingly powerful it takes the bodies of one man and one woman to contain it. The Joans want to make others aware of the groundbreaking over the top persona that was and is Joan Crawford by embodying her unique spirit through a musical recipe of one part new wave pop, a dash of garage rock, a generous helping of camp, and a pinch of theatrics topped off with original songs. Served hot, it pleases any crowd hungry for something out of the ordinary.

Chicago has given The Joans an enthusiastic welcome. The Joans press ranges from the Chicago Tribune to the cover of Nightspots Magazine, and The Joans are proud of the fact that they were awarded the Chicago Free Press PRESSIE Award for Best GLBT Band. The awards, chosen by the readers, represent the best in the Chicagoland community. The Joans have appeared at The Flesh Hungry Dog Show at Jackhammer Chicago resulting in their largest audiences ever, The Spot, Ronny’s, The Note, CAKE Chicago at the Red Line Tap, The Empty Bottle, The Acorn Theatre in Three Oaks, MI headlining their New Years Eve gala, The Music Box Theatre, the TPAN Aware Affair benefit gala, Mary’s Attic, Milwaukee Pridefest 2008, and Folsom Street Fair 2008, in San Francisco.

For upcoming gigs, video and song files visit The Joans MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/thejoansband or their website at www.thejoansband.com

Hi-resolution press photos available upon request at thejoansband@yahoo.com

Performing Do The Trog at The Red Line Tap 11/09/07

Please keep your promotional event comments to a manageable size or they will be deleted. Unicorns and teddy bears will more then likely be deleted. It just doesn't go with our decor and it's rude to post big honking ads Hiring The Joans

The following items are to be in the suite prior to The Joans arrival:

1. Cracked ice in buckets - several buckets

2. Lunch and dinner menus.

3. Pen and pencils and pads of paper.

4. Professional-size hair dryer.

5. Steam iron and board.

6. One carton of Alpine cigarettes.

7. One bowl of peppermint Life-Savers. 8. Red and yellow roses.

9. Case of diet Pepsi-Cola, ginger ale, soda and chocolate donuts.

There is to be a maid not weighing more then 125lbs. on hand in the suite when The Joans arrive at their hotel. She is to stand by until one of The Joans dismisses her.

The following liquor is to be in the suite when The Joans arrives:

1. Two fifths of 100-proof Smirnoff vodka. (Note: This is not 80-proof and it is only Smirnoff.)

2. One fifth Old Forester bourbon.

3. One fifth Chivas Regal Scotch.

4. One fifth Beefeater gin.

5. Two bottles Moët & Chandon champagne (Type : Dom Perignon).

6. 6 pack of Red Label beer (canned) for Carol Ann

The Joans will be met in an air-conditioned, chauffeur-driven, newly cleaned Cadillac limousine. Instruct your chauffeurs that they are not to smoke and that they may not at any time drive below 40 miles an hour with The Joans in the car. The chauffer should be handsome, fit and ready for action at any of The Joans biddings.

The Joans will be carrying a minimum of 15 pieces of luggage. Along with the limousine you will meet Miss Crawford's plane with a closed van for the luggage. Have with you a luggage handler who can accompany the van back to the hotel. It will be his task to take an inventory of the luggage as it comes off the plane and into the van, and as it is being brought into The Joans suite... Every precaution should be taken to assure that none of the luggage is misplaced. Fifteen pieces is the estimated minimum. There may be considerably more...

The Joans are stars in every sense of the word, and everyone knows they are stars. As a partner in this project, The Joans will not appreciate your throwing away money on empty gestures. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO MAKE EMPTY GESTURES TO PROVE TO THE JOANS OR ANYONE ELSE THAT THEY ARE STARS OF THE FIRST MAGNITUDE."

Happy Halloween!

Only highly reflective costumes.
Nothing violent or "creepy".

A responsible adult must be present
at each "Trick-or-Treat" transaction.

No eating candy until it has been
scrutinized by an adult or legal
guardian.

Walk in an orderly fashion.

BE QUIET! It might be "Halloween"
for you, but please respect
others' rights to a restful evening.

All "Trick-or-Treaters" shall report
back here, by 7:45 P.M.

Have a good time.

ON THE RARE OCCASION I HAVE A NIGHT OFF, I LIKE TO TAKE A RELAXING DRIVE. MY CHAUFFEUR, NICO, TAKES ME TO DIFFERENT PARTS OF TOWN....PLACES I AM NOT FAMILIAR WITH....
WHERE DESPERATE PEOPLE LIVE. I LOOK, BUT NEVER TOUCH! I AM A LADY, A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS OWNER. IT WOULDN'T DO FOR ME TO BE SEEN, SOCIALIZING WITH CERTAIN TYPES OF PEOPLE. I SIMPLY WATCH THE GOINGS-ON, THEN RETURN TO MY LUXURIOUS HOME, WHERE I AM WAITED ON, HAND AND FOOT, BY LOTTIE AND THE REST OF MY STAFF! I AM A LADY! NOT TRAMPS, LIKE SO MANY OF YOU......!
