*(I have been told rather pointedly by the man himself that the correct term for Olly's instrument is the 'Horn' so it should read "Olly Freeman - Plain Old Horn, Plain Old Kissing")
Influences
My influences are widespread, but this project is guided by the likes of Counting Crows, Ben Jelen, Pete Murray, Micheal Tolcher, Alexi Murdoch, Colin Hay, Claudio Sanchez, The Prize Fighter Inferno, Dashboard, Joshua Radin, Jack's Mannequin, Saves the Day, Jose Gonzales and anyone else who as ever picked up an acoustic guitar and just played...

NEW: Check out the new Joey Britton merch store here
"His songs are sad, melancholy and moving. Watching, you find yourself drawn into the mood he creates, and although these are sad, they don’t leave you feeling depressed and despondent, but touched. It’s not often that you get to see true emotion put across in a musical act in these days of corporate coldness and mass production, and it’s an amazing thing to witness. "
-Jamie Webster, critic and reviewer of gigs at the Plantation Cafe
NEWS: I am currently in the studio with Jack "the Wizard" Matthias working on my first professionaly recorded EP. Updates and tracks will be up as the process continues, but for now all I can say is that it's going really well and Im getting pretty excited.
Mainly a singer/songwriter and saxophonist, straying into the world of guitars was something I had long tried to avoid. However, the lack of any sort of pianistic skills and the inability to ever learn them meant that guitar became the obvious choice for backing the songs I wrote. Hence the focus of this project is vocals accompanied by acoustic guitar, with brief appearances from various other instruments.
My website, Joeyville.co.uk contains much more information and up to date news. Tim Bliss, trumpeter extroadinaire reviewed the site:
"I first discovered Joeyville while I was backpacking through Europe. I came to a clearing near Mount Timitabo; it was a beautiful and poetic combination of post modern neo-classicism combined with a inescapeable Platonic inspiration. Joeyville can only be described as one of the best artistic works to date."
...and I didn't even have to pay him!
The "Two Jack Afternoon EP" is currently in production as a colaboration between Joey Britton and Jack Matthias.

Yeah i do have facebook, sounds good, yeah Ive got some great software and gear now for recording. i can recomend some great stuff cheap if you fancy doing it yourself, or i can refer you to mates to work with who'll be cheaper than a studio if you wanna try that route.
Got bored after about 8/9 months of waiting for stuff to get done so ditched my producer and did it myself for now, the first track "john lennon" is the only finished one really, but its sounding pretty good now so... yeah, drop us a line when you're good to do stuff.
Fantastic stuff last night Joey! I really enjoyed your set & much preferred your original stuff to the covers, keep em coming! There's a fantastic open mic down at The Farnham Maltings festival this Saturday, you should definitely go along to play if you're free- I think it's between 2.30pm and 10pm.
We've been recording some new tracks with our recent member Matt on piano/vocals, if you have a moment please listen to one of our new tracks at http://www.roadtov.com/profile/15499
