Influences
Elmer Tippe, Rick Tippe, Brent Lee, Ken McCoy, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, George Jones, Charlie Daniels, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson and Toby Keith
Brett and Trent Johnson have always had music ingrained in their lives. They are the grandsons of CCMA Hall of Fame member Elmer Tippe and nephews to BCCMA and CCMA multi-award winner Rick Tippe.
Since first taking to the stage in 2002, they have developed an energetic and exciting live stage show that is fun and entertaining for everyone.
Along with several original songs, their repertoire ranges from the traditional sounds of Buck Owens, Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings to contemporary artists like Toby Keith, Brad Paisley and Keith Urban. They can also crank it up with some classic Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bon Jovi, AC/DC and Bryan Adams. A unique showcase of Charlie Daniels fiddle tunes completes The Johnson Brothers show. They can best be described as having a country feel with a rock attitude.
Over the years, Brett and Trent have had the great pleasure of sharing the stage with many great Canadian country artists such as Aaron Pritchett, Ridley Bent, Rick and Elmer Tippe, The Good Brothers and Karen-Lee Batten.
They have performed at several prestigious events including the Merritt Mountain Music Festival, BCCMA Hall of Fame and Award Shows, CCMA Stampede Showcase, Keepin’ Country Alive II, Abbotsford Agrifair and the CMT Merritt Walk of Stars Weekend. They organized and staged the ”Country Has Heart” charity event in 2008 which raised over $4,500.00 for the BC and Yukon Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The Johnson Brothers have had the honor of being nominated for several BCCMA Awards over the years including three nominations in 2008.
The Johnson Brothers are always well received wherever they play and their popularity and fan base continues to grow with each performance.
Hey - Thanks for the friendship! Music links us all together. There are wars taking place in every country in the world. Some are just more obvious. Check out my new video "Simpler Time". Reach out and make a difference and the ripple will be felt around the world. It has to come from within each of us. The alternative is unacceptable. Music can make a difference. Keep reaching out.
