Jones was formed in 1998 in Los Angeles by Jason Michael, Mick Tinsley, Chris Gubisch, Lou Canakes, and Bobby Wintersteen. Inspired by old R&B and new funk, their style was alarmingly unique to the L.A. scene. Jones continued to play to West coast audiences until 2003 when Jason returned to Texas and revamped his lineup. The new sound adds a greater influence of Blues and Soul. The Jones members are well connected in the Dallas music community and are unafraid to experiment. Often, they surprise audiences by including guest performers on violin, piano, horns, and other instruments. Jones possesses a generous talent that encompasses all that is possible. After witnessing a performance it is easy to understand why they are loved by many and respected by all.
