  • Bio

Cape Breton singer song writer Jon Hines is no stranger to the east coast music scene. Having been performing live since 2005, Jon has been captivating audiences with his own unique blend of rock, blues, and funk. With over a hundred shows under his belt, Jon has toured the maritime circuit a number of times, as well as played showcases for the East Coast Music Awardss, Newfoundlands Folk society, and Toronto's Indie Music week. In 2008, Jon released his debut EP, Gary the Bus Driver, to great praise. While lyrically dealing with more sombre issues such as death and lost love, the album never fails to keep the good times rolling with upbeat rhythms and catchy melodies. Now with a new record anticipated for a release in the fall of 2011, the Jon Hines Trio are getting ready to hit the road again and win audiences over with their infectious grooves.

Tis Cape Breton! I took it with my Blackberry when I went there to play some shows this summer. It's the first time I'd really been to CB (since once when I was like 4); it's so beautiful out there!
