THE JOURNEY is a venue tucked away near lake ray roberts in Pilot Point. We started this venue to encourage young musicians to start bands in our area and in turn have an opportunity to play close to home. The venue has a 5,000 watt plus sound system, which is more an enough for the 150 person venue. Snack bar, clean restrooms, and stage lighting make the place hum.
It is a clean and safe venue. No smoking. No outside food or drinks. Make it a great under age venue. Run by Wayne and Lori Gooden, residents and business owners of Pilot Point. The Gooden's have a long history with working with bands and venues. Michael Gooden, their son [Shapes Stars Make], is a consultant to the venue as well as co-founder of Shapes Stars Make from Dallas, Texas.
THE JOURNEY has been in operation since December 13, 2008 and will continue to have local and national bands perform on their stage each month. THE JOURNEY is sustained by volunteers and family members forced to work without pay and concern of their lives and schedules.
THE JOURNEY is a green venue, leaving big city lights and leaving a very small carbon footprint on our environment. The facility is powered by recycled cow manure from local farms. (not really but we are looking into it). |
