'Dan has an excellent voice and the band plays tight together without any of the wobbles new bands have.' - Mags from Metropolis Music
'The Jubilees play catchy pop songs that would be perfect for a festival. The crowdcan easily get into them.' - Dan Gillespie from The Feeling
'The Jubilees have produced some high-quality work on this CD. It is stylish rather than stylised, as some electro-indie music is becoming and Insomniac genuinely wouldn’t sound out of place in MTV 2s NME Chart. A fine future beckons the Sleaford lads, methinks.'
Katrina Pierce - Reviewer @ www.lincolnbands.co.uk
'The Jubilees sent in a demo. The best demo I have ever received by post in 19 years. I kid you not.'
Steve Hawkins - Booker / Promoter @ The Bivouac
'An outstanding new band from Sleaford, they look to have pulled off a blinding new CD at the first attempt. The sound is a mixture of jangly indie guitars, pumped up synthesizers and energized lyrics. Insomniac is particularly good, and is backed up by a succession of solid sounding songs. The band have produced a refreshingly good alternative to the heavy rock and covers bands that tend to emerge from the area.'
Andy Hubbert - News Editor @ Sleaford Standard
Mixing sunny, Killers synths with gritty northern abandon, The Jubilees
ooze both attitude and ambition. Already new band competition winners
for PlayLouder magazine, the Lincoln four-piece have built a solid
reputation in their locality and are now looking to widen the net.
Reminiscent of The Cribs and Boy Kill Boy, one esteemed promoter has
hailed them as producing, "the best demo I have ever received by post
in 19 years. I kid you not." Confident enough to prove their live
credentials by posting a video on Road To V, our experts spotted
something special and are keen to find out more.
From Channel 4.com:
Already winners in a recent 'best demo' competition for Playmusic
magazine, The Jubliees are a Lincolnshire-based quartet who specialise
in uplifting indie pop. A band to watch in the future and heirs to the
indie crown currently held by the likes of Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser
Chiefs and Maximo Park.
What the Road to V judges had to say:
"Dan has an excellent voice and the band plays tight together without
any of the wobbles new bands have." - Mags from Metropolis Music
"The Jubilees play catchy pop songs that would be perfect for
a festival. The crowd can easily get into them." - Dan Gillespie from
The Feeling
Hey good stuff guyz at the Mezz last night - pity the sound man didnt get it right for the first few songs. Love the harmonies on that new one and good to hear Hide N Seek too - a good finish to a varied set. Look forward to your next gig.
