"The June Echo" EP Review
"So-cal indie rockers, The June Echo, have a sound all their own. They combine elements of many different genres of music to create their own take on the laid back lifestyle that surrounds them. You can hear elements of pop rock combined with a bit of singer/songwriter style. The so-cal vibe of bands like Rooney and Phantom Planet are mashed together with emo/indie sounds of bands like Death Cab For Cutie and The Postal Service. The end result is a short, yet powerful self titled EP. 'Collapse' is the disc's anchor track. Clocking in at over five minutes long, it showcases the bands wide array of musical abilities along with catchy lyrics and an almost fluid like progression. Todd Hannigan helped to record the drum tracks for the album, which adds an excellent layer to the mix. A small taste of the future, this EP whets your appetite for some chilled out indie rock sounds for this unique and talented group."
About the JUNE ECHO (Full length being mixed/mastered!))
Painted as "indie rock," Southern California's The June Echo has taken one anothers influences and created a voice all their own. The band, Rocky (singer, guitar, rhodes), Terry (lead guitar), Matt (drums), and Will (bass), mostly came from differing musical genres and were only together 6 months before recording their EP that created an immediate buzz on the local scene. Having enjoyed constant listener appreciation, local shows, a tour up the coast, radio play and a review of their EP, the band returns to the studio to work on a full length that will demonstrate the growing dynamic and well-crafted song writing ability.
