Sarah Bradley; vocals, programming, guitar, violin, omnichord, percussion, ocarina, sample-gathering.
Influences
Musically: Aberfeldy, A Certain Ratio, Arab Strap, Bat For Lashes, The Beloved, Björk, Boards Of Canada, Broadcast, Cabaret Voltaire, Cocteau Twins, Colleen, The Delgados, Disco Inferno, Doves, The Durutti Column, Factory Records in general, The Field Mice, Girls Aloud, Hood, iLiKETRAiNS, Jane Weaver, Lali Puna, Lush, Mazzy Star, My Bloody Valentine, New Order, The Notwist, Pale Saints, Patrick Wolf, Portishead, Puressence, Secret Shine, Section 25, Slowdive, Talk Talk, Trembling Blue Stars, Ulrich Schnauss, The Wake, White Town.
Non-musically: The Factory aesthetic, Manchester City FC, Paul Auster, Stephen Fry, Mikhail Bulgakov, Sylvia Plath, Tom Weir, Oscar Wilde, late nights, half-price wine, pretty photographs, and the ridiculous notion of just upping sticks one day and travelling around Eastern Europe with my Holga round my neck and a good notebook.
Sounds Like
What people had to say about The Kara Sea;
"tones of the cascadingly comatose mindset of Slowdive, the shadowed mystique of Bjork, and the jadedly poignant beats of Everything But The Girl... set this girl free in a fancy studio and something stunning will come of it" - Sandman Magazine
"the elegiac, electronic Cocteau Twins stylings are too esoteric for mainstream chart success, yet so accessibly beautiful at the same time that success on her own terms is inevitable" - mysongbird.co.uk
"At the tender age of 24, Sarah Bradley, the lady behind The Kara Sea, finds herself with the surprising tag of industry veteran. However, a quick look at her CV soon puts any surprise to bed. Her latest project is thrown in amongst past exploits which include promoting, DJing and running a record label as well as her songwriting exploits. The metamorphosis of Bradley from Eskimo Girl into The Kara Sea is indicative of the maturity and finesse evident in her music. Rigid drum and synth beats complement the swirling melodies and poetic, sensitive vocals to make The Kara Sea a unique adventure in music. No longer an Eskimo Girl; the ice has melted and The Kara Sea is flowing." - 13thnote.co.uk
I am the Kara Sea. Former record label person / former keyboard player in Megarider / former DJ and club promoter / former backing vocalist in Shirokuma / former 24 hour party person.
Now I sit in my flat, drink tea, and make songs of whatever style takes my fancy (usually involving beats, violins, guitars, glockenspiels, found-sounds, samples and my omnichord). Cast your eye to your left for some influences, if you are that way inclined.
There is more to come, and it will all be better (as the future always is). Keep watching.

Thank you for your response. I would like to now move to the next stage and describe our event in more detail. I am a modest (non political/non commercial ) rock musician whose career started back in the 90s. To learn more about my activity visit:
By the middle of september my friends and I are planning to carry out a music initiative "Voice Against Violence." Our sources for the initiative are humble, though our goal is to reach a big audience. That is why we need support from you, all the peaceful people who are not indifferent to our suffering, and are concerned with the fundamental values such as: Peace, Love and Mutual Understanding.
Our massage is follows as :
1. to bands and musicians: join the Georgian bands on the same stage, for the same aim.
2. to journalists : join us and broadcast the initiative to show the world that Georgian tradegy can be shared by the rest of the world.
3. to citizens worldwide : give material contribution to our initiative, or spread our message to those who might be intersted in our proposal.
We will be responsible for booking accomodation, local transportation, guidance, etc. in case our event becomes international.
Sincerely
Lado Burduli Director Caucasus Contemporary Art Factory caucasusrockfest@gmail.com
Hi, yeah - I couldn't be there for the full 24 hours. I saw your name on the list along with a few other familiar people. T'was a good event, but a bit more interactivity other than shouting from the audience would have been appreciated, I think!
hello, you can now listen to 6 (six) of our new songs. though this actually means three proper new songs, one re-recorded old song, a new iteration of the magic road and a cover of a smog song.
anyway, please plant our songs in your social-networking allotment.
