The Killer B's - General Press Release ___________________________________________ The Killer B's are Britain's premier alt.blues-rock band. Members have performed with The Screaming Blue Messiahs, The Men They Couldn't Hang, Chicken Legs Weaver, Motor Boys Motor and UK Subs. They continue to burn incandescently in a landscape largely devoid of seasoned rock 'n' roll class. Guitarist and songwriter Chris Thompson - formerly of the Messiahs, the greatest live band of the 1980s, indeed of the past three decades - provides the fizzing, scorching lead parts. He takes the raw, elemental drive of the likes of Bo Diddley and Elmore James, and gives it a 21st century turbo-charge. His songs have the same twinned appeal; fusing classic R & B and post-modern eccentricity. Recent arrival, Andy Weaver, has added gravelly majesty on lead vocals and brings chunky, powerful rhythm guitar to boot. No less an authority than Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth described his previous outfit, Chicken Legs Weaver as - 'The best band the UK has produced in quite a while...' Ricky McGuire from The Men They Couldn't Hang provides punchy, elastic bass-lines from the Norman Watt-Roy school of punk-funk and Dave Morgan completes the rhythm section with his thunderous, yet tight-as-the-proverbial drum-work. The acclaimed album 'Love Is A Cadillac Death Is A Ford' was produced by Pat Collier (The Soft Boys, Primal Scream, Wonderstuff) and released on the legendary Track Records (Hendrix, The Who).
