Although the King Bees may not be a familiar name to most Tucsonans, the band’s collective members have been in numerous well-known Tucson blues, rock, jazz and even country bands over the past 20 some-odd years. The common denominator is that all the members have had the (dubious?) distinction of having been in bands with Joe Scibilia. Joe started the King Bees as a side project to bring together old friends to play some good music, but as more guys signed on, it turned into a pretty hot blues outfit. The King Bees play a decidedly rocking, guitar driven blues with a touch of Texas twang, deliciously soulful vocals, and awesome sax playing.
Joe, Zo, Chaz and the rest of you Bad Bees...I've been trying to get more knowledgeable of the myspace.com world but have been having beginner's growing pains. At least my last comment got posted. But I've written a few today! Joe, you are becoming quite the "virtuoso" on guitar...truly "way" excellent and I think you know I have impeccable taste:-) Later, Gregg
Joe and Friends, It was great seeing and hearing your very tasteful sounds at The Boondocks. It was especially nice to see such a crowd and the folks from the Blues Foundation. Until we meet again!....Gregg
