This Sax, Bass, and Drums Trio was formed in Brooklyn, NY, December 2005. TheKillMeTrio was originally a joke name created by Shayna Dulberger for a show put on by North Guinea Hills and Matthew Mottel at The Red and Black in Williamsburg. There was so much talk and positive feedback from this one show that the name stuck, the band proceeded to perform in the NYC area and recorded an album of Dulberger's compositions in July 2006. The band continues to perform and regularly lists reviews in their myspace blog, calendar dates in the myspace calendar, indie websites and the All About Jazz calendar. Each musician in TheKillMeTrio performs regularly in different projects. For more info. please read their short bio's below and click on their myspace links in the top friends.

About the Album
TheKillMeTrio released a self titled CD of bustling originals and improvisations. Composed of Dulberger on upright bass, Darius Jones on alto saxophone and Jason Nazary on drums, the album begins quickly with Improvisation, a billowing track with large plucks at the bass met by the quick snare and aching sax. This is a marker of the music to follow, broad tracks of forward jazz. The trio converges and diverges, touching territories from full free jazz groupthink to a calmer, more melodic post-bop, often on the same piece. Citing influences from Fugazi to William Parker, Dulberger and her trio siphon a broad pallet of musical tastes and backgrounds into a cohesive and evolving album.
