Named by The Toronto Star as "one of the best new groups emerging from Seattle", The Kindness Kind plays spacious electronic-infused indie-rock.
In 2007, The Kindness Kind recorded their debut album, A Novel, at Bear Creek Studio with Lucas Carlyle (credits include: The Gossip, The Octopus Project, The Album Leaf). A Novel went on to chart CMJ and was featured in numerous reviews including the Toronto Star's Anti-hit List column.
For their self-titled follow up (out November 2008), The Kindness Kind has taken their latest batch of songs to various studios and spaces in Washington State, with producer Lucas Carlyle at the board once again. The result is powerful: a vibrant mix of indie-pop-rock songs that move from the delicate to the brash, with thunderous walls of sound juxtaposed by beautiful floating textures and rich melodies interwoven throughout.
The Kindness Kind is a CMJ Spotlight artist, toured the West Coast in early 2008, and has shared the stage with bands such as The Rosebuds, Efterklang, The Most Serene Republic, and Darker My Love. The band recently performed live on Seattle's KEXP, and the "The Lusk Letter" was selected as the KEXP Song of the Day for 1/9/09.

Hey guys! How's everything going? I saw you guys play your CD release show at The Tractor and I was very impressed (even though I only made it in time for the last song). If you're not doing anything on June 2nd I'll be playing a solo acoustic set at ToST Lounge at 8pm. Anyways, keep on playing. It sounds good :)
