I Was the Riot at The Art School Last Night
Debut single out now on King Tuts Recordings!
Available for download now from:
We spend our days writing tunes and spend our evenings getting lost in them.
We are four young men from the land that popular music culture forgot, and yet it’s what has brought us together.
It has been said before, we do enjoy a right royal rave up, and that’s what comes across in our songs.
What else is there is to say? We love hard, aggressive music with sweeping romantic melodies, and we love playing it.
Hopefully you'll like listening.
...
Since forming in 2007 we've had the pleasure of playing with Twisted Wheel, The Rascals, Bromheads Jacket, Ida Maria, Iglu & Hartly and Jamie T.
We also played at T in the Park 2008 on the T Break Stage.
Later this year we're set to release our first single with King Tuts Recordings.
Here's some nice things people have said about us...
...
"The most explosive and energetic shows on the live circuit."
Tim Barr, A-Listed - News of The World (July 26, 2009)
"testosterone fuelled post punk mash-up... a rock n roll riot created with a lot of imagination and performed like a kick in the balls."
Heather Minto, Noise Makes Enemies (May 11, 2008)
"A uniquely riotous frenzy of jagged guitars and screeching megaphone."
Ryan Drever, List.co.uk (Mar 26, 2009)
"Tight guitar riffs, heavier than thou drums & high-octane vocals defy current indie sensibilities. With an onstage presence Jagger would be proud of, the King Hats confidence & striking ability to capture the crowd's attention proves these lads are certainly ones to look out for in coming months."
Ruairidh Pritchard, Re:Union (May 10, 2009)
"The King Hats let rip with a set so fast paced and riddled with energy, it's almost impossible to take your eyes off them. This is exciting to watch and surprisingly fun to listen to. 4 out of 5 Stars."
Ryan Drever, The Skinny (Oct 27, 2008)
"A confident entrance by The King Hats shifts the standard of T Break up another gear."
Lesley-Anne Brown, Sunday Herald Magazine (Jul 20, 2008)
"spikey guitar hooks punctuated by powerful drumming...a tight and frantic set, the highlight of which is She’s So Dead Now."
Martin Campbell, T Break (May 13, 2008)
