.._THE KINGSWAY SET TO SUPPORT MUSICAL GREATS STARSAILOR_..
Warrington indie band, The Kingsway, are set for their biggest gig to date supporting musical legends, and Warrington bred, Starsailor at an intimate gig at The Tavern in Wigan on Sunday 26th April as part of a Channel 4 documentary.
The gig is a defining moment for the band that has been making waves with numerous North-West promoters over the course of the last six months taking on more tour support shows and reaching new audiences.
Recent gigs have seen The Kingsway support the likes of Official Secrets Act (One Little Indian), a favourite of Radio 1 DJ and renowned musical critic Steve Lamaq, as well as headline packed shows at venues such as Manchester’s The Roadhouse.
On top of the Starsailor show, the band will be performing at Liverpool’s notorious Zanzibar Club as well as taking the main support slot for the annual homecoming of The Clone Roses at the Parr Hall in June – a slot that no one has taken off them for the last three years.
The Kingsway have been working hard over the last four months writing and recording their debut EP set for completion at the end of April, ready to take them to the next stage of their career. They have been recording with well known Producer and Engineer John Kettle (The Tansads, Witness, Moco) at Jaraf House Studios in Ashton, Wigan, with the final product being produced by Kettle and James Stelfox, bass player with Starsailor.
According to Wez Dolphin, singer with The Kingsway, supporting Starsailor is the highlight of the band’s most productive period to date:
“It has been an exciting time for us working with John and Stel and we have kept ourselves relatively quiet on the gig scene allowing us the time to work on new material, which so far is sounding like a definite progression for us. To support a band of such stature as Starsailor who have been around for nearly a decade in the industry is real a compliment they regard us worthy enough for that environment. A big revamp has gone on behind the scenes over the last few months so expect to see a lot more from us in the next couple of months.”
Hey Guys, Thanks for the add. I'm Sophie. I'm 24. I live in Tennessee. I really like your music and your songs. I love listening to them. Best of luck with everything. Have a great Friday and a great weekend. Sophie
How did you hear about us? Our brand new album "The Big Picture" will be out soon, then we'll be touring all over and we should be making it to your area, so please stay in touch, and let us know what's up, thanks!
We have put a new song up for you, it’s only a rough demo which hasn’t really been mixed well and hasn’t been produced but it will give you a taster of what may come next in our next recording sessions which we are trying to set before Christmas.
Enjoy! It’s called 'Stop'. Please tell us what you think.
