Bio
"Locals The K-Macks are capable of writing some really powerful folk songs. Stand out tracks like "Sin Boldly" and "Rearranging" lure the listener in with their candid wisdom; and I found myself clinging to every word from beginning to end. The acoustic accompaniment is bare and understated, as it should be, allowing the lyrics to take the lead. When vocalists Kevin Craig and Max Shultz take turns at the mic, their passionate delivery calls to mind the rootsy punk of The Avett Brothers." - Michelle Gilzenrat of Flagpole Magazine "Each song had its own cleverly engineered, unpredictable feel. I heard reggae, folk, country, blues, rock and some Motown influences. Though they were difficult to pigeonhole, the trio exhibited an impressively constructed and tightly knit compilation of songs. Kevin dominated with the bass and led the vocals, while Max’s distorted guitar riffs and background vocals created a harmonious cluster of dance-worthy music. If you enjoy anything that resembles country-fried punk rock, then you’ll enjoy songs like “Sin Boldly” and “The Cock Song.” The band even impressed with their rendition of two classic songs, “Billy Jean” and “Stand By Me.”" - Judas Moon of Performer Magazine "...they were not just musicians, they were entertainers... Their stage presence commanded attention, and I was captivated by their distorted guitar riffs and vocal combinations to create undeniably exciting songs." ..Caroline Baggett of The Silver Tongue Two songs from our new 7 song EP "Tobacco and Firearms" are up. They are... "Threw It All Away" and "Oh Madeline." List. Please take a few moments to hear our songs-- two of them, "I am The Keeper of The Light" and "Sand" are from our six song studio E.P. "Softly Rock The Ghetto." We recorded this E.P. at 585 studios with our good friend ..Deke Spears... Our full-length album "Welcome, Everybody" dropped on September 11th 2008. We recorded it at The Sandman's Lair (Ben Sanders of ..The Taj Motel Trio..'s home studio). Go listen to TTMT and hit Ben up if you want to use his recording services. As you can plainly hear, he does great work. We recorded "Tobacco and Firearms" at The Sandman's Lair between December and February of 2009-2010. We released this 7 song EP February 25, 2010, and it's been quite well-received. More news to come-- the future's coming pretty fast. .....and keep checking back frequently for show dates and new songs. We work fast. Peace, love, unity, brotherhood, regards, The K-Macks Post-script: all of the artwork for the new record and the revamped Myspace was done by none other than the amazing Mollie Reeves. The equally amazing Brandon Kryak designed the layout for the album and the layout for the new 'space. Thanks to both of you for your help and fiendship! -

Sounds Like
a guy trying to write songs like Elvis Costello, Kris Kristofferson, Hank Williams, and Paul Simon listened to too much Bad Religion, NOFX, Vandals, Descendents, and Green Day to do it right. "Country-fried punk rock" has been used to describe us.
