   About The Knot

The Knot is an improvising cello duo based in Toronto, ON. We formed in July 2006, and have been playing shows sporadically since then under our own names. Now, we have a name and will continue playing...

Our music bridges the gap between many disparate styles, with a certain amount owing to the fringes of folk, ambient music, noise, and modern classical, as well as of course free improv... Despite our chosen approach, we are not necessarily squarely "free improv" (the genre) in terms of the sound which emerges.

Sound samples will be available soon.
