Sounds Like
G-News Music – Sept 2006 ….the future kings of “Rock-Mod-Punk-Indie & Roll”… THE KNOWING
The band have a wonderfully “post modern” sound to them, on listening to demo track “Suburbia”, you can hear the threads of many varied influences woven together:
With a Johnny Marr-esque wandering guitar, a rasping and dirty bass sound, a singer who can actually sing and the Led Zep’s John Bonham style drumming, The Knowing are “tight but loose” if ya know what I mean!
Originally an acoustic songwriting partnership between Mark & Ben, "The Knowing" were formed in January 2006. Geoff (drums) and Matt (bass), joined to create a full band sound. Months of rehearsing and a change of bass player (Mick) nailed the sound that we were looking for. September 2006 we hit the live circuit for the first time. Stepping it up in 2007 we went on to play many venues around the West Midlands, the highlight being the Carling Academy in Birmingham. October saw the recording of our first official demo at Magic Gardens in Wolverhampton. Fast forward to February 2008 and due to unforseen circumstances Ben left the band and a gap in everyones heart. Luckily for us Jem stepped up to help out and now has become a permanent fixture. Moving forward we aim to secure a Manager, record an album and up the ante on the live circuit. Watch out for us..........
Sorry about the plug!
