Sounds Like

Rolling Stones, Kings of Leon, Stereophonics, Ramones, MC5.... ROCK n' ROLL

Appropriately titled 'Fourth', can you guess why, this latest release from the irresistible The Kokos is more of the same beefy pop-rock that's instantly in-yer-face and pretty much unputdownable. The Kokos' magic formula has been re-visited here and once again it has proved to be a recipe for success.

Opening with 'Movin' On', which straight away sets the tone for the duration; thumpin' big beats, jangly guitars, impassioned vocals all set a great song that pretty much insists on being played loud. This is a commercial chune in typical Kokos stylee; bold, incessant and damn catchy - great stuff and a great opener!! That signature sound is there - ard full-on - what else should I have expected, this is The Kokos for God's sake!!

'She Wants To Know' follows and keeps the pressure on - again, don't expect any respite from The Kokos coz these guys just want to max out and rock yer ass off. And that's exactly what they do!! Finishing with the slightly more subtle but still ballsy 'Miss Fortune' and it's time to press play again..... 'Fourth' is a t'riffic piece of work - it's got a bit of everything but most of all its got energy at its heart and fire in its belly!

The Kokos are Andy Young (vocals, guitar), Sibs (bass) and Rob Utton (drums) and together they make sweet rock music for the age - theirs is not pretty, theirs is not modest music but, by the same token, theirs is not forgettable music either. Oh no, The Kokos play with real passion and belief - you can almost feel the hurt that goes into the making of everything these boys do; three play like four, three play as one!

With their pretty distinctive style and kerranging sound, The Kokos have once again come up trumps with the excellent 'Fourth'. Just far enough from indie norm to be joyously acceptable but well within the bounds of commercial viability, 'Fourth' by The Kokos suggests once again that The Kokos aint gonna simply conform - they're gonna push the envelope and test the Nation. Typically different, typically ballsy, typically appealing - tasty stuff from The Kokos - surely a winner!!

   About The Kokos

"...The Kokos are a riot of blistering guitar riffs and screaming vocals, Andy Young sounding like the bastard step child of Caleb Followhill and Iggy Pop......a blast of dirty riffs, drawling vocals and violent drum stabs; a blistering slice of punked up garage blues..."

Mike Bond, UK Music Search

In the cold, wintery January of 2006, long term musicians and friends, Andy Young and Richard 'Sibs' Sibley recruited the services of drummer Rob Utton and The Kokos were born. Since their first masterful gig at The Buffalo Bar in March 2006, the boys have come on leaps and bounds. Enlisting the talents of both Jason Temple and Jim Riley, The Kokos have produced and recorded three EP's, performed live shows at some of London's hottest venues, performed on FM radio, won XFM's unsigned band competition and have been played on numerous radio stations all over the world! Keep your eyes on the horizon, London's own dirty rock trio aren't finished there......
