In 2008, three musical friends joined forces to create the wonder that is The la de dahs. Originally inspired by the music of The Andrews Sisters, they began to re-arrange well loved modern day songs into a 1940s style. The la de dahs are twee, fun and quintessentially English. They are here to charm you with their delightful harmonies, surprising songs and wiggling hips. The girls entertain all - be they in the Spring or Winter of life, tubbies or sveltes, hip hop fiends or classical junkies. If you love both Cole Porter and Eminem, come, have a gander and lend your ear to these three gals. Join in The la de dah game - can you guess what song they’re singing before anyone else? There are no gimmicks, no instruments, no recorded sounds and the girls arrange all of the music themselves. The only instrument you’ll see on stage is their beautiful red melodica – it hits the starting notes for them and then promptly leaves the girls to do the rest. The la de dahs will make you feel a little bit better about everything- like a hot mug of tea and a crumpet. Just sit back and smile. .. To download 'Song for the Dead' (the B- side to the much loved and extremely talented, Alexander Wolfe), search for The la de dahs on iTunes .. Testimonials -.. I love the La De Dahs, their unique style and fabulous singing made for a big hit in the Cabaret Arena at Latitude. Not only that, the girls were flexible and fitted into varying parts of the programme and were an absolute delight to work with. They got a great reaction from the audience so all in all a programmer’s dream act! .. (Tania Harrison, Arts Curator Latitude Festival).. The la de dahs are aural sunshine. Whenever they've performed for 'Utter!', they've been so cheery, tuneful and talented, I've almost wished I'd been alive in the 1940s! .. (Richard Tyrone-Jones) ..
