The Laines formed in late summer of 2007 and have been working on their unique sound since. Influenced by 60’s pop and psychedelia and such bands as The Beatles, The Kinks and The Rolling stones. Fronted by vocalist and experienced songwriter Lewis Macskimming and long term friends; Nathan Wilson and Matthew Sharkey. Nathan Wilson is an accomplished bass player taught by Anthony Harty formally of The Style Council. Matthew Sharkey is a keen and experienced lead guitar player taking his influences from Such guitarists as Jimmy Page and John Squire. Kieran Chalmers, a well established drummer and close friend completes The Laines line up bringing with him many new and different influences. Using a mix of backwards guitars, soul influenced drumming, captivating melodies and sing-along choruses have helped The Laines to create a unique and memorable sound.
