"Never cried once when I could have" was released on the 11th of October 2006.
”Never cried once when I could have” is the second album from The Lancaster Orchestra aka Carl Mathson. Once again it’s 100 % focus on the excellent song writing and the sensitive yet expressive voice of Carl Mathson. But at the same time the band is allowed more space and musical freedom. The Orchestra this time is basically half of the players in the internationally renown Swedish band Logh with a few additions.
And the fact that we have a really tight and experienced backing band makes a difference. The sound is relaxed and casual, but still with an edge. It sounds like it’s recorded live in the studio (which isn't too far away from the truth). The band is loud yet laid back and they create the perfect environment for Carl’s hauntingly beautiful and sometimes slightly depressing songs. Try for instance the opening track ”I wish we never met”, the country flavoured ”I remember that time so well” or the single track ”Save me from myself”.

Hey Carl, that's fine music! I've got this friend and the two uf us got that dialogue: "Why do you listen to this country stuff?", he asks. "Do I?", I ask. "Sure", he says. I shrug. I'll tell him about you. Keep it up.
