Influences
Music in all forms, underground or mainstream, and pretty much any genre really. Live music is a wonderful thing we think, and being involved in it on a daily basis is a dream come true. Being able to provide a solid and consistent outlet for musical artistry is our goal.

The Lantern is Blacksburg's largest nightly music venue with the best stage and in-house PA/professional lighting in the area. The Lantern is primarily a 18 and up music venue with bands nightly, but we also have a lunch and dinner menu, as well as a bar, and billiards. We have a healthy mix of local and regional bands as well as national touring break-out level bands. Shows from almost all genres are welcome at the lantern, with anything from 10 piece afrobeat bands to solo acoustic acts welcome. We hope we are able to please everyone. So if you're into interpretive dance/melodic weaping we might even be able to satisfy you. we hope so anyways...
We're really just two guys who have been involved in the music scene for most of our lives in one form or another, from playing in bands, to running live sound, promoting shows, or even working the door at clubs. we both have been in the trenches for years now, and now we have a great opportunity to provide downtown Blacksburg with the venue it truly deserves! We both share a passion for live music that we hope to reflect in the shows that we book as well as the atmosphere we provide.
