GOTTA LET GO [live on Coast TV]

A gutsy mix of The Hellacopters, The Flash Express and the heartless talentless vocal and lyrical whingings of The Sex Pistols, with drumming akin to Shihad, Solos to rival AC/DC's own Angus, punchy basslines and catchy riffs.. We just sound pretty raw and straight up, we sound like a lot of good bands out there, we just don't have the talent.
The Lastimes,
a sweaty mass of rock and roll sounds...
Best described as "lively 70's rock with undertones of the london punk scene." They're "not really a garage rock band" but say thier sound draws on a wide range of musical influences, form delta blues to fast paced punk.
The 4-piece rock and roll band formed in early october 2004 after
English brothers Alex and Matt Hoyles relocated to New Zealand and met up with local Kiwi musicians Dan Weston and Alex Freer. After playing aresonable amount of gigs in and around Auckland, with the likes of: The Situations, Mixture, Sonic, Commander Keen, Gladdis, The 44th Calibre, Neverscent and several others, The Lastimes have now developed a lively stage show and a polished set list
Following the loss of original drummer Alex Freer (to other commitments), The Lastimes picked up a new drummer Nathan Samu, adding a new more powerful drumming style to the existing songs and giving fresh influence to the writing of new material
With a new song "What You've Got" in hand, The Lastimes entered Primal National Battle of the Bands..and after beating stiff competition at the regional heats, finished 3rd in the national final, with lead guitarist Matt taking home the Best Musician award.
With a plethora of catchy riffs, and a desperate desire to gig more, The Lastimes felt it about time to get some of thier sound down on CD, so in early May 2005, they began recording at a home studio, to produce a demo/promo 6 track CD. Finally completed and pressed at the beginning of June, the CD at least gives you an idea of the energetic sound of The Lastimes.
In the future The Lastimes intend to make a music video and have already begun discussions with a local film maker, they also hope to gig around the north island, hopefully playing alongside The Vacants and The Crazy 88, and trying to make a few date sin Hamilton and possibly Wellington with in the next few months.

We had a bunch of gigs planned for May, but Alex was a noob and he cut his hand pretty bad or something. I'm sure we can sort something out for around then though.
Cheers, for hooking up with First Flaw! We're playing at Diggers on Thursday - if you're in Hamilton would be awesome to see you there if you can make it! We've also got a new song up on our page "The Flame" - check it out. Peace!
