Reading (everything from novels to comic strips), working out at the Leach, seeing new movies and enjoying old favorites, learning more about myself and other, learning in general, writing and rewriting and rewriting, living in the moment.
Music
I'm feelin' John Legend, Jill Scott, Joss Stone and all that jazz. I can grove to a lot of different things. I love to dance and act a crazy fool. Remixes are always good, and a HOT one can have my heart pumping, but at the end of the night... I want to relax to a good slow jam with deep lyrics.
Movies
Ferris Beuller's Day Off and almost anything from the 80's, Constantine, Fight Club, V for Vendetta, Malibu's Most Wanted, Harry Potter, Tomb Raider I and II, Scary Movie I and II and III and IV!! Too many to list... I like movies with realistic endings because in real life sometimes the bad guys gets away and the guy doesn't always get the girl.
Television
Anything on The Learning Channel and HGTV, MTV reality television is my guilty pleasure, ROME, The L Word, Queer as Folk, CSI, Will & Grace, Real Time with Bill Maher, The Colbert Report, The Boondocks, Family Guy, Futurama, Robot Chicken, Flavor of Love and all the spin-offs, Russel Simmons Def Poetry Jam (save the best for last!!).
Books
Carrie, Their Eyes Were Watching God, Shakespeare's Sonnet Sequence, The Other Woman, Siddhartha, Written on the Body, Beloved, Signing for Dummies, Rubyfruit Jungle, Almost all Greek mythology, My Journal (Pompous? Maybe a little...).
Heroes
What is a hero? In mythology and legend, a man, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favored by the gods.
A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, especially one who has risked or sacrificed his or her life: soldiers and nurses who were heroes in an unpopular war.
A person noted for special achievement in a particular field.
And still yes, I believe I am my own hero. Is that vain, or just extremely honest?
About me: I am creative... yet boring.
I am patient, but with a fuming temper.
I am kind, yet terribly sarcastic. A ball of contradictions. That is what I am.
There's more to me than my outter cell. I'm too complicated to figure out, and too over-sensitive for you to try. But sometimes you put up walls not to keep people out to, but to see who cares enough to break them down.
There's is more to this tale called life, and I'm going to be one of the people that find that out. Barriers wait to be broken.
Who I'd like to meet: YOU! And maybe her... and him! Oh yeah, I like him. :)
