The Last Word consists of Matt Walsh (Guitars/Bass), Steve McGrath (Bass/Guitar), Rich Quatrano (Drums/Percussion) Jake Warren (vocals, guitar, bass, saxophone), Chris Jones (vocals and keyboards-due to a prior summer commitment -will be joining us in full swing in September). Formed in the closing months of 2004, and then re-formed in May 2007, the band has been jamming every week perfecting their songs and getting ready for their future performances. With Matt off to college in September , Jake Warren has accepted the very difficult task of filling Matts shoes. Jamming with Jake in past weeks, we are very excited. Matt will always be a part of The Last Word and will have the “Open Door” policy with us to join in anytime we are on stage or just practicing. (You will never know when Matt will show up!) His input as well as his expertise on the guitars and bass has played a major role in the foundation of the band. Chris Jones has also accepted our invitation to join as part of our team to perform vocally and to add his talent as well on the keyboards.... We will be re-doing our myspace in the near future with our music, new pictures, video that will also include our individual bios—All in good time folks!
Our previous performances have ranged from The Knitting Factory, The Underscore, Don Hills, Nikki and Sam's, Coda, Warsaw, CBGB's, SUNY Purchase College and , Dozopalooza, just to name a few.
Recently the band won FIRST PLACE in two battle of the bands competitions, including one established by Bodog Music Entertainment as well as a UUCSR sponsored Battle for New Orleans show.
