Influences
Tito Puente, Music of the Palladium & New Musical Concepts
The Latin Giants of Jazz is one of the most exciting, colorful and authentic orchestras currently on the music scene. It is no surprise that blazing trumpets, swinging saxophones, blaring trombones, melodic vocals and an exciting percussion section comes from the alumni of Tito Puente's orchestra.
Led by long time Puente band members John Rodriguez, Jose Madera and CEO Stew Jackson, The Latin Giants of Jazz offer the best of Afro-Cuban and Latin American music. Having toured the world with the late & great Tito Puente for 35 years, these all-star musicians have unparalleled history and experience.
Currently having two CD’s released: “The Latin Giants Play the Music of the Palladium…Tito Lives” and “Trip to Mamboland”. Both recordings underscore why these musicians are recognized as some of the best in their field. They bring swinging perfection to stage with their tremendous sound that lures you from your seat to the dance floor.
Just selected as a finalist in the Latin song category for the 8th annual Independent Music Awards for 'Cuero Na'Ma'

Review of Performance at Tempo Latino
"The Latin Giants causes the public to explode at Tempo Latino"
The show put on by the Latin Giants, under the direction of Jose Madera, last night was the best in the 15 years of the Tempo Latino Festival. With seventeen of the best known and experienced musicians and legends of best that Latin Music has to offer, they played in the plaza bull ring at Vic Fezensac and enchanted the crowd with their music; the Mambo. They demonstrated that despite all of the advances and fusions that have been done to Latin music over the years, they preserve that real original big band mambo sound intact. It's the best Latin Big Band ever to play at Tempo Latino and they didnt just play any mambo; they played mambo-jazz, cha cha cha, son, guajira and guaguanco. They played Salsa and took complete advantage of the talents of their singer Frankie Vazquez, one of the greatest salsa singers and soneros in the world today.
