Laughter Lounge, Galway's Interests
|
| General | Obviously comedy, rock n roll, partying, watching Chelsea winning, watching Man Ure losing, playing with the kids, eating great food and drinking fine wine, having the craic with the lads and mostly I love making lists, doing the things on them and ticking them off... weird really. | | Music | Currently I cant stop listening to Buddha bar - ten year celebration thingy. Great stuff. Spearhead - home (the old ones are the best). Talking heads - more songs about buildings and food. Modest Mouse, Flaming Lips, and infortunately in the car with the kids - Driving with Disney. | | Movies | Happy Gilmore, The last boy scout, The Jerk, Goodfellows, Holy Grail, Usual Suspects, anything with Paddy Courtney in it. | | Television | The Wire - HBO made Baltimore bad guys & cops thingy. HBO Rocks. Even better than the Sopranos. Mighty Boosh. Curb your enthusiasm, CSI,
Also late night TV - find a channel you like, have a smoke, drop the remote on the floor.
I liked lost for a while but cant be bothered anymore.
The Sopranos.
Hate reality TV but love reality and Yeah I love TV - is football just boys reality tv? | | Books | Currently reading Topsy & Tim series for Stevie who is 2 and Secret Seven series for Lilymay who is 7. Reading out loud, I used to hate that in school but I'm getting pretty good at it now. As long as there's no big words like perfedious or modicum
Suduko and Kakuro. Cant put them down - real page turners. | | Heroes | The first guy to eat an oyster. Brave fucker! People who achieve enlightenment. B A (not the Airline - Mr T), people who can keep a cool head while all around are losing theirs. |

Laughter Lounge, Galway's Blurbs |
About me:
The Laughter Lounge is a comedy club that's on Wednesday nights in the Roisin Dubh, Galway, Ireland, so it is! The club usually features the very best in Irish and international stand up comedians and improv shows.
We have a sister club in Dublin, Ireland, also called the Laughter Lounge - www.laughterlounge.com. It's our big sister but that just means we are the cute baby of the family. We're much more fun but are more likely to cry and puke on your shirt if you shake us.
Comics looking for a gig / open spot get in touch comedy@roisindubh.net. You will need to send us a 5 minute video clip because there's an awful lot of shite out there and we provide entertainment for our customers, not stage time for part timers. Only serious comics need apply.
Ask us to be your friend ...go on we won't bite you.
Roisin Dubh is also Ireland's best rock n roll venue on the other 6 nights a week. It doesn't have a myspace but it does have a great website www.roisindubh.net
And we do serve the best pint of Guinness in town and we are open late every night with them fancy DJ thingys and a heated smoking area on the roof where fags and beer don't have to be separated.

Who I'd like to meet:
I love meeting funny guys, that's why I run a comedy club.
Jose Mourihno but not Avram Grant, The big blonde girl on the babestation, David Byrne, Sylvia Saint, Steve Martin, Gerry Mallon (again), anyone who owes me money and is likely to repay it and most of all people who like going to comedy clubs.
