The Layaways don't sound like any of this. Words that have been tossed around to describe us include understated, dreamy, and blissful--none of which describe the aforementioned hypothetical scenarios (except maybe the Halford thing). We've also been compared to the Jesus and Mary Chain, Guided By Voices, George Harrison, Rain Parade, and the Radio Dept.

The best show ever was in the long,hot summer of 1996 at Rons Crossroads.Mike Porter was still wearing that house arrest ankle bracelet and had been drinking the nights pay since noon.When he went off the set list and began reciting Richard Harris poems the bottles started flying.33 stitches later he finished the show in the Akron General Emergency Room.He never found that recipe again.
