The Layers are a funky, psychedelic, ambient, rock, extravaganza from York, England. They are Jon Newton on Drums, Mollie Taylor on Sax, Luke Brownbridge on Bass and samples, and Oliver R Tones on Guitar and Vocals. Oliver R Tones has written all the songs so far, drawing from a number of years worth of home demos. The four of them have been playing together for just over a year. John, Luke and Oliver have been playing live together since November 2005, when they debuted at The Roman Bath in York. They have still played only 14 gigs in total. Having performed at Fibbers, Certificate 18, The Junction, and the Basement Bar at City Screen in York, The Cardigan Arms in Leeds, and the Riccall Regen Centre whose Battle of the Bands they won in April 2006. Their prize was a day in Cube Media’s recording studio in York. This session has produced The Flash Mobbing EP, which was released in June 2007.

All eyes and ears will undoubtedly be tuned to SAM RILEY'S band 10,000 THINGS as they perform for the first time after him taking time out to star in the IAN CURTIS film 'CONTROL' which also co-stars SAMANTHA MORTON and tells the story of the life of the JOY DIVISION front man. It has recently taken the Cannes Film Festival by storm and so this exclusive performance will be a guaranteed way to finish the festival on a high!
HOWARD MARKS will also be there talking about his marijuana exploits and will be sure to ease everyone into Sunday morning.
