About The Leaves

This profile was edited with Thomas' myspace editor™ V2.5The Leaves is a band that has formed with the goal to have no real direction, but to have that lack of direction serve as freedom which enables the band to compose whatever music we feel at the time. It is our belief that music should serve as a reflection of the self and of emotion, thus, we all bring something different to the table. Together we compose political, philosophical, emotional, humorous, and all together experimental music. We only encourage each other and are always open minded to suggestion. In a way, our goal is to keep the lack of a goal. To play what we love and to get as big as people let us whilst always working at being that much better and that much more expressive. The band was started in late 2004 by Ted Steffens, Adam Bock, and Alex Hopkins. These same individuals had played in a band named T&A (Pop/Comedy/Rock) for years before, but were looking to grow as artists and songwriters. We had composed around 60 different songs, but over time we realized that we werent very passionate about the music. The decision was made to dump all the old material, change the name of the band, and add an experienced guitarist to the mix so Ted could focus on new hip-hop influenced vocal patterns and write more in-depth lyrics. It wasnt long before we found Chris Sergeant and completed our sound. Now the Leaves are creating new and experimental music all the time and are quite proud of what weve done and quite optimistic about our future. PRESS KIT HERE!
