   About The Legendary Beep Beeps
A band truly from down under, The Legendary Beep Beeps formed in Antarctica, now call Denver home. With the imminent release of their follow-up to Put On Your Armor (2008), The Beeps are sure to get comparisons to early U2, Interpol, and Silversun Pickups with their new album, Set Your Heart Right. With the addition of new drummer Joshua Taylor, The Beeps are making waves with both radio play and live shows on the local and national scenes. Keep up to date with The Legendary Beep Beeps on myspace.com/thelegendarybeepbeeps, Facebook, and e-mail at beepbeepnation@gmail.com Thanks for all your support! Love & knives, The Beeps....................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... Colorado Music Buzz story, Apriil issue: Alt - Indie: The Legendary Beep Beeps:Denver/ Antarctica L by Bree Davies: How far will a band go to get away from the humdrum routine of everyday life, and more importantly, to escape from ex-girlfriends? If you’re The Legendary Beep Beeps, a second home on another continent is ideal, and nothing could be further from Colorado than McMurdo Station, Antarctica. The trio, who call Denver home for half the year, fell into their current incarnation while escaping their “nine-to-five” lives in the sanctuary of the South Pole. This odd location, uncharted to the minds of an average music listener, has provided what lead singer/guitarist Frankie (Bella) Abbatecola calls a “great songwriting cavity” and a perfect place to create music without the distractions and drama of a traditional city life. Originally an acoustic project consisting of Abbatecola handling guitar and vocal duties and Eli Duke on drums, their good friend Cary Marger was later brought in on bass, a departure from his own usual singer/songwriter routine. The raw and unprocessed sounds of the first session as a trio gave birth to The Legendary Beep Beeps’ line-up that exists today, exploding from what Abbatecola calls one of those “amazing, epic first jams.” That was a little over a year ago in Antarctica, and now the Beep Beeps find themselves back in Denver, on the verge of the release of Set Your Heart Right, a culmination of hard work that transpired in the private seclusion the South Pole aptly provided. Six months of focusing strictly on music and the Beep Beep’s sound is sharper than ever; Abbatecola’s droning guitar meshes superbly with the acute despair of his vocals, as Duke and Marger provide the rhythmic structure for the melodies to balance on. Each layer of the Beep Beep’s sound is thick with a heavy devotion to history-making bands as they channel The Cure, Radiohead, and in some epic melodic meltdowns, the Smashing Pumpkins. Twinges of great ᾿90s acts like Smoking Popes and Helmet can be heard too, and present day comparisons of the Beep Beeps to Silversun Pickups are assured. Wasting no time, the Legendary Beep Beeps get back to work this spring, putting down a new EP at Rocky Mountain Recorders. This time around, the band will be working with Andrew Vastola, who has engineered tracks for local greats like Born in the Flood, the Swayback and the Photo Atlas. Abbatecola says Vastola’s “amazing ear for sound” made him a very appealing choice for the Beep Beeps and the direction they’ve been heading in. Maybe this trend of South Pole isolation will catch on, and Denver can create a sisterly musical bond with McMurdo Station. For all they know, The Beep Beeps could become the first polar trendsetters who put our wonderful Mile High music scene on the global map. Stranger things have happened. For now, the Legendary Beep Beeps will be sticking around this continent for the summer and lining up a tour in upcoming months. You can catch them April 2nd at The Hi-Dive with Canadian rockers The Trews, and April 24th at Herman’s Hideaway with local act and CMB March 2009 cover story Strange Condition. Hey Guys!

Sorry we didn't get back to you, we had a little band bonding time and weren't around the computers. What are your ideas? We'd like to get out of Denver until September but wouldn't mind playing surrounding areas in the mean time. Let me know what you think!!!
