Suzanne sings and plays the saw and the washboard, Olivia plays harmonica, spoons, and guitar, Cyrus plays guitar, Matthew plays bass (Lest we forget, Franco played bass before Matthew and Andrew played bass before Franco. Therefore, Andrew played bass before Matthew), Darrick plays drums, Curtis plays banjo, and Joe plays mandolin and sings.
Influences
American country music, the Beatles and bands influenced by the Beatles, Creedence, and punk rock music from the early nineties.
Sounds Like
Two guitars, electric bass, banjo, vocals, saw, drums, harmonica, and mandolin playing almost the same songs at about the same time.
Denver's Westword has described us as "the sound of an alternate universe where hipster culture spontaneously generated in the Appalachians, complete with irony and punk rock roots intact, but lacking all other indie touchstones." Suzanne and Curt have made music together for a long time. Franco once had a band called Sexual Jihad. But that's beside the point, since he doesn't play with us anymore. Olivia played bass for another band called Shame Shame (that previously was known as Hello Operator?, and before that they were called Broadcast). Cyrus just plain kicks asses and picks up chicks and rocks. D-Rock and Matthew are the freshest sonic addendum to the group and provide wicked rhythm and stellar low end, respectively. Joe is a pretty mysterious fellow, even to the rest of us, and we need not discuss him any further.

Thank you all once again for coming out and playing with us last night. We had a great time, and we will be looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
Just wanted to let you guys know that I took a photo of you performing at Denver Art Museum's Untitled #24 on August 28, which appeared in an article on Examiner:
wow my friends, what a great sound. Really enjoyed all, but Wash Away My Whiskey Ways transplanted me smack dab into a holler in the the West Virginia Appalachians. Well done. I shall return. Thanks again. Hope all is good. Be well
On
June sixth, twenty Denver musical acts swap songs at the all night
auditory orgy called Denver Does Denver. Played on three stages between Bar Bar
and Old Curtis St, these two neighboring venues serve as the sets for
promiscuity in sound. Each band abandons their original material to
play a set covering another Denver band. The expansive lineup includes
a wide assortment of Denver's most adventurous artists, from singer
songwriters to electronic composers, hip hop crews to blues crooners,
improvisational avante gardists to old time country troops. Witness a massive intersection of local on local sound at Denver
Does Denver.
Thanks again for the add! We really would love to have you and your group down for a free haircut this month if you have time. As an active element of our neighborhood's scene, we will host local bands on our website and allow you to blog and post up show dates… Its not done but we will let you know when!
