Sounds Like
"At Last A Fresh, Young, Vibrant Band That Is Truly Worthy Of Representing The North East Music Scene. They Will Go Far!!"
Alan Robson, Metro Radio Dj, January 2008
Painting pictures of everyday life, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, but always insightful. The Lexingtons take all the elements from what they see around them and with the same eye for observation and an ear for a lyric as Ray Davies, take you on a journey into the world around them."
TEO Music
"The influences of The Jam and The Kinks are easy to see but do not let this mislead you into thinking that The Lexingtons are just another regulation indie band as nothing could be further from the truth. They undoubtedly have a sound that is all their own and any comparisons with the above bands are made only as a compliment, as this band’s sound is a damn fine one!"
New Reality Music
Mix a large dollop of the Arctic Monkeys with a splash of the Ordinary Boys, finish with a sprinkling of early Oasis and you get Middlesbrough's hot new Indie sensation. Catchy indie/powerpop with song titles like "Fuck Art Lets Dance" "Behind The Mask" "Saturday Night Sunday Morning" "Different By 3'o Clock" "Living For Today" and "Polkadot Dress" The Lexington’s have found a winning formula.
Every song has a hook, Every chorus is sing-along-friendly.
Brimming with youthful exuberance, lead singer Ash Turner and his band mates look like they could play all night.
They finish with a guaranteed crowd pleaser, “Everything to me” a song full of pride for their hometown of Middlesbrough,
Fly Me To The Moon
After The High Of Headlining The Empire, And Months Of Nothing The Lexingtons Have Departed, The Dream Me And Turner Had When We Started The Band Was To Play The Empire, Sounds Weird But When You Watch Bands In That Grand Old Room For Years, Playing There Yourself Seems An Achievement, I Will Never Forget Playing Music Live, That Was A Real Hairs On The Back Of Your Neck Kinda Show, I Will Also Never Forget Arena With Little Man Tate, When Ash Took Advantage Of Maz's Discount Card And Got Fooked, The Independant With LMT Was Also A Blast, We Lasted About 40 Gigs In The End, Thats Not Alot For The Effort And Graft We Put Into It, And Its Still Great Knowing That People Still Try And Book Us For Gigs On Here, We Get More Offers Now Than We Did When We Were Going, It Was Good While It Lasted But Like All Good Things This Has Come To An End,
Ash Has Became A City Boy (Briefcase An All ) Mass Is Enjoying Playing With This City Romance, I'm Loving It In Dead Mans Shoes, And Dans Away At Uni,
So I Will Leave You Now, And Looking Back On Those Gigs, Some Immence And Some Awful, We Have All Moved On But One Day We Will Play Again, Maybe 10 Years, Maybe A Week, Maybe Dannys Wedding, But One Day I Will Take My Place In The Group That Made Me Believe In Music, I Was Only 1/4 Of That Band But It Took More Than 1/4 Of Me,
