About me: The Library Fairy® is a magical mascot of stories and books and a legend of lore near a century old. Wherever you find books, you might catch a lucky glimpse of her flying through shelves, dancing in pages, sleeping on sentences and igniting the love of reading in many young lives.
She recently came out of hiding to share her love of stories from around the world for today's children. She captivates by performing tales in the lively folklore tradition, enchanting her audience with narration, interactive games, music and theatrical improvisation using an array of props, humor and song. Meeting the needs of a diverse population, she also uses American Sign Language (ASL) and Spanish at times to tell her many delightful tales. Story theater is a highlight of the show as excited child volunteers help act out the some of the stories to the joy of the audience!
The Library Fairy® is bringing the distinctive art of storytelling to life on a national level for a whole new generation of story listeners. This includes bringing TLF to the small screen, providing children an unprecedented access to multicultural folklore while enhancing this art to directly promote their literacy, diversity and self-esteem.
She has already completed a pilot presentation intended for development with a broadcast, cable or public television outlet, attracting the partnership of a prominent production company who has produced for PBS, General Mills, NBC, ABC, and Kids’ WB! Book lovers:
The Library Fairy ® recently made the foray into children’s literature with her book, THE MAGICAL TREE AND MUSICAL WIND at an event hosted by The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books. Her touching tale in pop-up prose leads children ages 4-7 on an adventure of how the wind and the tree make beautiful music together... and how trees enhance our world. Stunning illustrations by Laurie A. Faust. Bonus features include Lesson Plans, Tips for Telling and how to convert the tale into lively story theater for kids!

1. I should give myself the same care and attention as I give others.
2. I am not an endless ‘resource’ for others, I must stock up on ‘reserves’ and not get too drained.
3. I have needs to which may be different from my family’s, my friends or my colleagues.
4. I do not have to say ‘yes’ to all requests – or feel guilty if I say ‘no’.
5, The ‘perfect’ parent, partner, child or career person does not exist – the ‘good-enough’ one does!
6. I have the right to be treated with respect as a worthwhile, intelligent and competent person.
7. I do not have to have everyone’s approval all the time to know that I am trying my hardest.
8. Time for unwinding is time very well spent.
9. Making mistakes is not a disaster – I can learn from these and it allows others to as well.
10. I must be fair to myself and remember, at all times especially in the face of criticism, anxiety and difficulties, THAT I AM DOING THE BEST THAT I CAN!!

Thank you SO MUCH for the honor of reading Marshall's story on your podcast! We just love how it turned out. If you are looking for other wonderful children's books to read, may we suggest Queen Vernita's Visitors or Queen Vernita Visits The Blue Ice Mountains by Dawn Menge? She is in our top friends list and Christine just loved Queen Vernita's Visitors when she reviewed it!
