THE LIES are a band creating unique music delivered with bombast and aplomb. showcasing talent and musical prowess, that is played from the soul.
The heart of the band has been beating since early 2004; guitarist Richie, singer Donny and drummer Adam have been pushing themselves musically from adolescence to adulthood.
The DIY ethic of the band was established immediately, as they sought to organise their own sold-out gigs. With a solid fan base established they’ve gone on to sell out established venues in Stoke-on-Trent, namely The Underground and The Sugarmill on numerous occasions (venues that have played host to such revered acts as Peter Doherty and The Coral respectively). These impressive accolades are augmented by the fact they have played gigs in Liverpool and Manchester and have recently shared stages with The Holloways, Detroit Social Club, and The Wombats.
In 2008 they recruited two new members that have cemented them as a must see live act; bass player Al Smith, and organ player and pianist Louis Querelle have added strength and depth to an already vast live sound. The Lies may just be delivering the biggest show around; you won’t be disappointed.
