Indeed, the album is a work of art.

My two favorite albums in existence would probably be "In the Aeroplane over the Sea" and "Freshman Year" by Hop Along, Queen Ansleis.

Both of those two albums are phenomenal. And all so well pieced together.

Ah! You have some good tastes as well. I love most of the bands you have listed.

My top influences? Neutral Milk Hotel, Paul Baribeau, Hop Along Queen Ansleis, The Beatles (But of course!), Bob Dylan (But of course!), and also just the underground folky guys like Dustin and the furniture, A drum and an open window, toby foster, all that jazz.

I'm really pretty much influenced by whatever I listen to. All of it.

It's hard for me to pick favorites.

Yes. Neutral Milk Hotel is my favorite band, hands down. My love for Jeff Mangum's music borders obsession.

He has inspired me immensely.

Oh Comely is a great song.

My favorite would probably be King of Carrot Flowers Pt. 1, or perhaps one of the Two-Headed Boys.

Or perhaps Someone is Waiting.

I can never really decide.

Do you have any favorite bands/heavy influences?

Do you plan on making it a lifestyle? Or just something you do on the side? Whatever. Explore your thoughts on it. That's what I'm asking.

Jul 16 2008 8:12 PM

Well hello morgan. Yes, fidlle-faddling is fun. Drums? I can play african drums. But I haven't gotten around to the sets yet. Someday, perhaps.

So where do you want your music to take you?
Jason Johnson

Jul 16 2008 10:43 AM

thanks, morgan. I've got my friend backing me on second guitar and harmonica so it should be pretty fun.
ART the infinite

Jul 16 2008 9:31 AM

Tell you about myself. That should be easy enough. Or not. We'll see.

I'm Amber. I'm 15, but age is just a number, so I try not to base anything on age alone. :) I've been playing guitar for about 3 years, and I actually just recently started playing the ukulele. I really want a sitar. I think that sitars are the prettiest instruments in existence. But those are the basics.

Your turn.
Nirvana Cow [is killer.]

Oh, of course! Lo-fi underground folk music is my calling, and I love meeting other musicians who share a similar calling. :P

Oh, and thank you very much. :) I'm glad you like my music as well. I definitely appreciate the compliment.

my utter excitement for college is kicking in. i met so many cool people this weekend at orientation and i fell in love with monterey. it is such the perfect place for me. and im listening to a record that i bought at the record store there, this old hippie man runs it and recommended a band called Espers to me.
i like it a lot and im stoked to live in a place with a record store for once!
