About the light fantastic

The Light Fantastic started with Matt Pittman writing and recording 11 songs for the debut album, "The Mayfield LP". After the completion of the album, Justin Wilson (bass/bgv's) and Todd Harwell (drums) joined up. The Light Fantastic will start to play live throughout 2009, in support of "The Mayfield LP" and prepare songs for their next album, in which to be recorded by the entire band. Before The Light Fantastic was started, Matt & Justin played for 8 years in the band Red Animal War which released 4 records, toured Europe and North America many times over, and worked with producers J. Robbins, Ed Rose and Darrell LaCour. Todd also played for a short time in Red Animal War after the demise of Doosu and played with Flickerstick for several years.
