The Lightning are a 4 piece rock /covers band,playing classic rock songs along with added awsome songs of their own ,with a handfull of gigs and a great following there midlands most wanted band
The band came together quite by accident,like most bands sometimes do Steve Shepherd and Terry Campbell,have known each for a long time through work(jewellery trade)and through sessions music etc, for neally 3 years we jammed it at the local studio than we thought lets go for it and we bagan the long find for a singer and a bass player,
Our first little bit of luck was our rythem guitarist,later scrapping the guitar for singing to concentrate on the vocals to help the band in rehersals, Andie Evans was doing similar things jamming with a friend in a garage but really wanted more ,word of mouth promted him to come down and a very close friendship formed ,he is the most dedicated member of the band,we felt that as Steve Shepherd was so accomplished on the guitar and liked that style of playing one guitar was ok,how right we were,, we began the hunt for a shit hot bass player:)
Our bass player was a diffrent story we tried a couple but it just wasn,t working out ,so a sudden look in bargain pages and an advert we spotted promted us to make the call and Tom Brown made the grade ,the band have gone fron strength to strengh ,our Epilepsy chairty gig we hosted and our gig at The Tower of song were the big highlights for us in 2008
