With a heap of fun, a load of feistiness mixed in with a dash of sass you get the fresh indie-rock sound of The Liking Strikes. Founded by the gifted vocalist and songwriter, Lacey Wright and the talented instrumentalist and composer Carter Stewart, the group’s thoughtful and surprisingly hard-hitting lyrics combined with an upbeat musical style is winning fans over nationwide.
The Liking Strikes have just released their first self-titled EP, with the release of their full-length album slated for early 2009. The group’s diverse sources of inspiration are evident in the four songs included in the EP.
Their eclectic sound is influenced by wide-ranging artists such as The Beatles, Patty Griffin, The Cure, Weezer, and The Rocket Summer. Lacey and Carter’s passion for music is contagious, especially when they are performing live.
When not recording and performing music, Lacey and Carter can be found hanging out with their families and spoiling their pets Soda and Cali.
There’s a lot to like about this Dallas-based band and once you take a listen, it’s inevitable – you’ll be struck by liking.
