U weren't bothered by all the cussing & expletives at NIN live?
Your Asian-ness wasn't offended? That's good. Cos not long ago,
somebody
here in Singapore would've gotten into trouble for Trent's lyrics &
outbursts, including performing Closer live. All in the name of Asian
values, my friend! When Trent apologized for taking so long to come to
S'pore, he needn't have cos it was Singapore that wasn't ready for him.
The authorities had to forgo intolerance & being uptight only becos
of the Internet & fear of alienating the young. It's all down to
national agendas... even when it comes to your music! Hence... me
today... also about agendas, dude! Now that the 'revolution' has begun,
who do you think I was singalong to the chorus of Closer for? Ha ha ha
ha... 66.6% blessed! With the god of lightning in tow. Ha ha ha ha...
"Bow down before the ones you serve/you're gonna get what you
deserve..."
Someone please tell that 'feminist mentor' Dr. Thio Su Mien that her contention about AWARE is misguided! Singapore has no law against lesbianism (duh!) and AWARE is a women's organisation. Tell her to fire her blanks at Friday.com or PinkDot.com and stop wasting our country's rightist credibility (already at risk in today's Net age). Besides, feminism is about sexual liberation. Where the hell did she get her feminism from? UNIQUELY Singapore? It figures.
