Durante alguns anos de suas respectivas adolescências, o guitarrista Boriz! trocou com o baixista Ellvis Pirotti apenas algumas palavras, quase sempre ofensivas. Eles pertenciam a grupos rivais, parecidos com gangues, que representavam cada um sua ideologia. Isso mudou quando descobriram o gosto comum por bandas das décadas de 60 e 70. Tornaram-se a partir daí amigos inseparáveis, ouvindo discos dos Ramones, Stooges e AC/DC e tocando em diversas bandas.
O guitarrista e compositor Vinnie Lepore já tinha muito em comum com a dupla, mas nem sabia de sua existência. Através de um anúncio feito pela internet por Boriz!, buscando um “guitarrista e vocalista”, encontraram-se num bar da Rua Augusta e ficaram algumas horas discutindo como seria a banda que formariam, pois estavam afim de levar o projeto o mais longe possível para quem sabe, um dia, fazerem apenas aquilo que realmente sabem fazer: Rock.
Passaram diversas madrugadas de 2007 compondo, mas ainda faltava um baterista. Vinnie convidou o amigo Zé Menezes, figura mais conhecida na cena paulista por ser baterista da banda Condessa Safira. Grande fã de nomes como MC5, Sex Pistols e Rolling Stones, Zé topou na hora. Agora podiam escolher um nome: Limousine Drivers. Nada que representasse melhor a vida deste grupo de jovens de 20 e poucos anos que, entre seus cursos universitários e empregos, levam a vida com o Rock N’ Roll correndo nas veias.
Depois de uma série de shows bem sucedidos ao longo de 2008, os Limousine Drivers lançam agora seu primeiro Ep, intitulado “Watch Your Wishes”.
Com 8 composições próprias, o Ep foi produzido durante o primeiro semestre de 2008 pelo musico Chuck Hipolito, guitarrista e vocalista da banda Forgotten Boys.
Agora os Limousine Drivers já estão prontos para correr para qualquer lugar levando consigo seu Rock N’ Roll. E eles prometem ir muito, muito longe.
For some of their teen years, guitarist Boriz! has exchanged but a few words – most of the time, offensive ones – with bass player Ellvis Pirotti. They used to belong to rival groups, like gangs, each one having its own ideas. That changed completely when they found out they shared a passion for bands from the 60s and the 70s. From that moment on, they became inseparable friends, listening to records of Ramones, Stooges, AC/DC and playing in several bands together. Guitarist and composer Vinnie Lepore already had a lot in common with them, but didn’t even know they existed. Through an online ad by Boriz! searching for a “guitarist and vocalist”, they’ve met at a bar on Augusta Street and spent a couple of hours discussing how the band they were about to make up was going to be, since they were up for taking the project as far as possible so that, one day, maybe, they could manage to do nothing but the one thing they had been cut out for: rock. In 2007, they spent several nights composing songs, but were still missing a drummer. Vinnie invited his friend Zé Menezes, known in the paulista scene as Condessa Safira’s drummer, to play with them. A huge fan of names such as MC5, The Sex Pistols and The Rolling Stones, Zé immediately said yes. Now they were ready to pick up a name: Limousine Drivers. Nothing could represent better the lives of these 20-something guys who, between their university courses and jobs, lead their lives with rock n’ roll running in their veins. After some successful gigs along 2008, the Limousine Drivers now release their first Ep, named “Watch your wishes”. With eight songs of their own, the Ep was produced in the first semester of 2008 by musician Chuck Hipolito, Forgotten Boys’ guitarist and vocalist. Now the Limousine Drivers are ready to go everywhere taking their rock n’ roll along with them. And they are up-and-coming.
