If Mary Poppins went to lunch with Joan Crawford in a bad mood, with Bernard Herrmann and The Beatles collaborating for the soundtrack, it might sound kind of like The Lion in Love. I will settle for fame in a small country. Actually, it's the sound of heartstrings plucked gently by a rusty chain-saw--awfully pretty and pretty awful. Stay Gold--- The Lion in Love is Jainy with the close cooperation of Julian, but does that really matter? I could be you and you could be me, so long as you can sing.
I think it was the guitar melody right at the beginning...though I could be wrong. I went through some stuff last night trying to find it, and I think it might be slightly different...either that, or I didn't find it.
Love the outsiders. The new stuff sounds good. I think I used the same melody that you have in "A dizzying spell"....and now I am feeling like I need to up date my page..grrr
thanks for the very kind words. there should be more like this and hopefully over time people are more than i or bring out the best in many rather than so few. have a good week. hugs, Christopher
p.s. here's a free pop mixtape if you would like to have it :) http://www.indiepages.com/nebraskapopfestival/popfestmix.zip
Yes, yes, in all seriousness they are a huge influence on me and I am glad you can pick up on it. B/t/w, all your "oohs", "aahs", and "doodoodoos" are awesome (and when I'm on acid, they're awesomer).
I shall attempt to explain to you how we use the DS live. But you'll have to bear with me, as I do not know all the technical terms for... things.
To start, there's the mixer board back with sound mixer man, and then there's the mixer board extension things that are on the stage that mics, instrument cables, etc, are plugged into. I do not know the name of these extension things. They will be referred to as MBETs. (Mixer board extension things)
Okay way:
DS plugged into Amp or MBET via instrument cable with a 6.3 mm (instrument cable size) to 3.5 mm (headphone size) adapter on one side, so it can fit in the headphone jack of the DS.
Best way:
Two channel, 3.5 mm stereo cable plugged into headphone jack of DS, and then plugged into MBETs via two 3.5 mm to 6.3 mm adapters on both channels.
I don't know if that makes sense.
I shall message you a picture, because you disable html in your comments.
But it works well. Quality is better than I would have originally expected.
We use a MicroKorg synthesizer and also a virtual synth/sequencer also by Korg called the DS-10. Best thing ever; Korg adapted a synth into the form of a Nintendo DS game. The first track on the page is exclusively the DS synth. Best thirty dollar investment ever, hahah.
