Bio
The Living Sample is a Philadelphia based band that is comprised of some of Philly most talented and diverse musicians and MCs. The band is an interesting blend of authentic Hip Hop, Drum & Bass, and experimental electronica. Each member brings something different and equally diverse to the table. Starting with Anam Owili-Eger, one of Philly's premere singer songwriters and jazz pianists, if you have been in, or live in Philly and haven't heard this cat, you're missing out. Andy Meyer, a multi-talented drummer that brings to life the essence of urban beats as well as organic, hybrid improvisation. Adam Todaro, a versatile multi-instrumentalist that brings heavy groove bass lines and dark synth riffs to the stage. DJ Rockwell, a veteran to the art of samples and turntablism Rockwell is fluent in the scratch and cut department as well as production and engineering. And last, but by no means least, Armanni Reign and Sharpness MC, which have graced the stage of many continents and corners of the world. Two of Drum and Bass's premiere MCs, by no means limited to one genre of music. These two, known as MENTAL SHARP bring to light the pure essence of real, and gritty hard hitting hip hop, teamed with some of the states top producers, these cats definitely bring DAT SHIT!!!!!!!! This project is about bringing the electronic and the sampled world of music to the live spotlight, and being able to cross genres to give whatever audience, whether club or concert, something to appreciate.
