Bio
With their feet firmly entrenched in the music of 60's era British Invasion beat groups, the Lizardmen were formed in 1994 and quickly became one of Atlanta's most popular bands, gaining a loyal following among the local Mod scene. The Lizardmen draw their inspiration from the classic sounds of swinging London's freakbeat and psychedelic bands like the Creation, the Kinks, the Who and a host of lesser-known bands you might find on the Nuggets box set. In 1998 the Lizardmen were voted critic's choice for best local rock group by Atlanta's Creative Loafing. They've performed at the Music Midtown festival and the Drive Invasion. The Lizardmen have appeared with many national acts like the Commitments, Drivin'N'Cryin, the Fleshtones and the Smithereens. In 2000 the Lizardmen recorded the song "Come And Get It" which was featured on the Paul McCartney tribute CD "Love In Song: An Atlanta Tribute To Sir Paul McCartney." The band was also asked to write a promotional jingle for the Cartoon Network and had a cameo in the ensuing commercial. The Lizardmen released their EP "Feeling Good, Now, Yeah, But..." in the fall of 2005 and once again raised money for needy children during the holidays with their 7th Annual Empty Stocking Fund Benefit. 2006 finds them back in the swing with hope to release a full CD later in the year. .. -
