   About The Local
The Local is the New Zealand Music Show on Bnet Station Radio 1, 91FM, Dunedin, New Zealand. It occurs every Thursday from 7-9pm and specialises in new underground music from Dunedin and Aotearoa, and dusty treats from the extensive NZ archives.
We like New Zealand music, and we want you to like New Zealand music. And we want the people you know to like New Zealand music. To this end the show often features a guest from Dunedin's musical underground playing their favourite New Zealand music, or just as often a band performing their favourite New Zealand music live on the show, in suitably cramped and lo-fi conditions. Watch out for the odd sneaky bootleg and specialist show profiling people and events from New Zealand's rich underground while you're at it.

Hosted by Dave mostly, and sometimes Cleanie and Don.

Remember, you can contact the Radio One on-air DJ by:
-Phoning 477 1969 (if you're in Dunedin)
-Emailing dj at r1 dot co dot nz (if you're anywhere)
-Text (021) 2RADIO1 (if you're in New Zealand)

The show is broadcast live across the internet via Radio One's webpage, and with many thanks to Barnes a selection of shows are recorded and available for download. You can find some of the latest shows here:

Hey yo,
Just letting you know about an awesome gig next weekend in Dunedin,
Photobucket

Yes! The rumours are true, FEASTOCK FEST 09 will take place in the beautiful surroundings of number 3 Fea Street in the Pine Hill / Dalmore area of Dunedin on Sat 28th March 09.

In a nut shell it is going to just be a funking good time without having to take your hat off, you can wear steel cap boots if preferred (or if you would like to be intoxicated that is fine & dandy...)

The festival will run all day (10am gates open) and is a celebration of current Southern bands & artists. The day will go ahead rain or shine in true festival style… There will be a BYO - BBQ available, no glass, etc so pretty please come prepared for anything. No parking available.

Tickets are $10 (strictly limited pre sales only.
)
Available from 027 460 5425, hamlo937@student.otago.ac.
nz
Cheers
