Inspired by poets’ dead, The Lockwoods have been playing shows around Sydney before they were legal to buy a whiskey-coke to ease the nerves. Their presence is felt through warm dramatic tones harmonizing with bass and vocals to create not just a sound, but an atmosphere. Formed out of desperation for distraction from the pains of pubescent passion, The Lockwoods consist of front-man and guitarist Duncan Stewart, Gareth Psaltis on bass and Mark Smith on Drums. Their sound encapsulates the deep vocals of Jim Morrison, complex structures of Pink Floyd with the pace and youthful ferocity of the Pixies.
The Lockwoods have worn-down the timber boards on most Sydney stages including playing at the Oxford Arts Factory First Birthday amongst an incredible line-up of Australian artists. Currently working on a string of new tracks, the Lockwoods will be releasing their highly-anticipated debut EP early 2010.
