Acoustic Stage is the name of the company that runs The Loft although this is not the only venture under their management. The team are also responsible for the 'The Willow Stage' at The Rythms Of The World festival in Hitchin. This is a free two day festival bringing together every musical genre under the sun. The naughty blighters are also in charge of entertainment programming for Pink Festival (pinkfestival.com). This is East Anglia's only LGBT event encorporating two live music stages, dance tent, caberet tent and numerous other tents. They also run The Boathouse which is a new music venue above The Boathouse pub, dedicated to acoustic music. If this wasn't enough there are other ventures and venues planned for 2007 and beyond so watch this My Space......
I said they'd be more and there is. Acoustic Stage are also involved in Ladyfest Cambridge (see www.myspace.com/ladyfestcambridge). A week of music and arts dedicated to the greatness of women.
Following the success of Ladyfest the gang are now sticking their fingers in tour bus hire, equipment hire, artist managemnet and promotion pies. With a combined experience of everything there ever was to know about live music an the like, if you have any live music query or problem these are the girls and boys to call.

What are you waiting for? The Loft hosts to some of the best gigging bands around. With cheap booze and a massive sound system The Loft is one of the best live music venues around.
The Loft was an independant 140 capacity music venue in Cambridge. We used to boast the third largest permanent music stage in the city. We would like to support local and not so local musicians by providing them with a proffesional yet awesome place to play however we appear to have been somewhat bitch slapped by a company larger and more corporate than us and their minions of evil so we say fairwell to The Loft but this isn't goodbye.
Visit us here for up to date stuff that isn't sponsored by the bank of Satan and corporate wrong-doers
If you are an acoustic act please check out the Acoustic Stage link above or contact us through The Boathouse MySpace which is in our top friends. We always love to hear from you, even the folkies.

The last gig ever at The Loft saw 9 of our favourite bands playing their best. Everyone was grateful to Jo and Acoustic Stage for all they've done for live music in Cambridge. Many unsigned bands and artists have had their first gigs at The Loft and much unknown talent has been given a break where breakthroughs are difficult.
And we crew have gained so much as well. Whether stage tech, engineer, lights, promotion, management we've all been given chances to learn and put it into practice. We're now armed with experience and that's invaluable.
A big thank you to Jo and Roy for all your hard work and for giving us all a break.
